IPS e.max is a leading-edge alternative to metal-based restorations. When esthetics cannot be compromised, e.max offers many benefits over PFM. Composing of both Lithium Disilicate and Zirconium Oxide, e.max offers supreme esthetics, versatility, and clinically-proven strength.
IPS e.max is a dental ceramic system by Ivoclar Vivadent that is used for creating various types of restorations such as crowns, veneers, and bridges. Here are the advantages of IPS e.max in English:
1. **Natural Aesthetics**: IPS e.max offers superior aesthetics with its ability to mimic the natural translucency and color of teeth, resulting in highly lifelike restorations.
2. **Biocompatibility**: The material is well-tolerated by the body, which makes it an excellent choice for patients with metal allergies or sensitivities.
3. **Strength and Durability**: IPS e.max has high strength and durability, particularly the reinforced versions like IPS e.max CAD, which contain leucite or lithium disilicate crystals for added strength.
4. **Metal-Free**: Being completely metal-free, IPS e.max is a great option for those seeking a more natural-looking restoration without the use of metal.
5. **Minimally Invasive**: Preparation of the tooth often requires less removal of the existing tooth structure compared to other materials, making it a more conservative approach to dentistry.
6. **Customizable**: With the ability to customize the shape, color, and shade, IPS e.max restorations can be tailored to fit each patient's unique needs and preferences.
7. **Highly Adaptable Margins**: The precision fitting margins help maintain a tight seal at the edges of the restoration, which is important for long-term success and preventing secondary caries.
8. **Low Maintenance**: Due to its smooth surface and non-porous nature, IPS e.max restorations are easier to maintain and clean compared to other materials.
9. **Versatile Applications**: IPS e.max can be used for a wide range of applications including single crowns, multi-unit bridges, veneers, inlays, onlays, and more.
10. **Digital Workflow Compatible**: The system integrates well with digital dentistry workflows using CAD/CAM technology for precise and efficient fabrication of restorations.
It's important for patients to discuss with their dentist whether IPS e.max is the right choice for their dental needs considering factors such as cost, desired outcome, and oral health conditions.

Digital production of dentures
Hesheng Dental Lab is also working digitally. Professionals know it: perfect dentures can be made in just a few steps with meticulous work! From scanning, milling, and 3D printing to customization and firing, everything is done in our laboratories with extreme precision and the highest level of dental technology. In the digital production of dentures, we use advanced technology: CAD/CAM scanners and milling technology as well as 3D printing processes.
A big practical advantage is the use of the 3Shape Unite app. Here, dentists can easily upload scan data and transfer it to our dental lab – for a smooth workflow. Then we will take care of the implementation.
Steps in the production of digital dentures:
(1) A laser scanner is used to scan the patient's dental impressions.
(2) Intelligent software transmits the data to the milling unit or to the 3D printer
(3) Dentures are milled or 3D printed from ceramic blocks using the latest precision technology.
(4) Machined dentures are hand-adjusted by experienced dental technicians to perfectly match the individually chosen tooth colour and fit.
(5) The ceramics are fired at high temperatures in a sintering furnace.
In the past, impressions were made so that dental technicians could accurately see the relationship between dentition and teeth. If you only scan and no longer use the denture model, you will not be able to check how well your new dentures fit with other teeth. This reduces the quality. With 3D printing, we're safe. This means that we can quickly and easily create plastic tooth models based on the scan data and get more accurate results.Hesheng Dental Lab is also working digitally. For the open system, clinicians can download the scan data and mail it directly to the lab via the email address provided.
At Hesheng Dental Lab, nearly 100% of case design is handled through dental design software. This allows our experienced technicians to shape every aspect of the restoration, ensuring a precise fit, function, and aesthetics. This fully digital design process guarantees greater accuracy in the final restoration, as the errors inherent in traditional indentations and stone model pouring are completely eliminated.
Once the digital prosthesis is designed, the design file is transferred to the appropriate production team based on the materials and type of prosthetics required by the clinician. Regardless of the effect of the impression, all restorations in the Hesheng Dental laboratory are precisely crafted using the same cutting-edge technology and processes.
