Product description
The Soft on the Inside, Hard on the Outside Bruxism Night Guard (or Grinding Mouth Guard) is a specialized dental appliance designed to protect teeth from the damaging effects of bruxism, which is the involuntary grinding or clenching of teeth during sleep or periods of stress. This innovative device combines a soft inner lining with a hard outer shell to provide both comfort and durability.
**Key Features:**
1. **Dual-Layer Design**: The night guard consists of an inner soft layer that fits comfortably against the teeth, offering cushioning and protection. This layer is typically made of a flexible material such as soft plastic or silicone. The outer layer is made of a harder, more wear-resistant material like hard plastic or acrylic, which acts as the surface against which the opposing teeth articulate, thereby protecting them from direct contact and potential damage.
2. **Customization**: These guards are often custom-made for the individual patient based on impressions or digital scans of their teeth to ensure a precise fit that maximizes comfort and effectiveness.
3. **Treatment of Bruxism**: They are used to prevent the tooth wear, damage to existing dental work, and jaw pain that can result from nocturnal grinding or daytime clenching.
4. **Easy Maintenance**: Removable for easy cleaning and, unless specified otherwise by a dentist, can be removed during sleep or when not needed.
5. **Adjustability**: Some designs may allow for adjustments as treatment progresses or to accommodate changes in the patient's bite.
**Advantages:**
- **Tooth Protection**: They effectively shield the teeth from the forces of grinding, reducing the risk of fractures, wear, and damage to restorations.
- **Reduced Discomfort**: The soft inner layer provides added comfort, especially for those who experience pain or sensitivity from clenching and grinding.
- **Improved Sleep**: For patients who grind their teeth at night, using a bruxism night guard can reduce associated noise and improve sleep quality for both the patient and their bed partner.
**Disadvantages:**
- **Adaptation Period**: Users may experience a brief adaptation period while getting used to wearing the appliance.
- **Hygiene**: They require diligent cleaning to maintain oral hygiene and prevent bacterial growth.
**Indications:**
Recommended for individuals diagnosed with bruxism to prevent the adverse effects of tooth grinding, including tooth damage, jaw pain, and headaches.
**Maintenance:**
Patients should follow proper cleaning instructions provided by their dentist to keep the night guard hygienic and functional. Regular check-ups may be necessary to monitor the condition of the guard and assess its effectiveness in managing bruxism.
The Soft on the Inside, Hard on the Outside Bruxism Night Guard offers an effective solution for patients suffering from teeth grinding, combining comfort and protection to preserve oral health and well-being.

Digital production of dentures
Hesheng Dental Lab is also working digitally. Professionals know it: perfect dentures can be made in just a few steps with meticulous work! From scanning, milling, and 3D printing to customization and firing, everything is done in our laboratories with extreme precision and the highest level of dental technology. In the digital production of dentures, we use advanced technology: CAD/CAM scanners and milling technology as well as 3D printing processes.
A big practical advantage is the use of the 3Shape Unite app. Here, dentists can easily upload scan data and transfer it to our dental lab – for a smooth workflow. Then we will take care of the implementation.
Steps in the production of digital dentures:
(1) A laser scanner is used to scan the patient's dental impressions.
(2) Intelligent software transmits the data to the milling unit or to the 3D printer
(3) Dentures are milled or 3D printed from ceramic blocks using the latest precision technology.
(4) Machined dentures are hand-adjusted by experienced dental technicians to perfectly match the individually chosen tooth colour and fit.
(5) The ceramics are fired at high temperatures in a sintering furnace.
In the past, impressions were made so that dental technicians could accurately see the relationship between dentition and teeth. If you only scan and no longer use the denture model, you will not be able to check how well your new dentures fit with other teeth. This reduces the quality. With 3D printing, we're safe. This means that we can quickly and easily create plastic tooth models based on the scan data and get more accurate results.Hesheng Dental Lab is also working digitally.
